We experienced a great start to our new series this past weekend! Here are a few highlights from my message.
The Valley Of Blessing (week one)
On the fourth day they gathered in the Valley of Blessing, which got its name that day because the people praised and thanked the LORD there. It is still called the Valley of Blessing today. (2 Chronicles 20:26 NLT)
No one really likes being in a valley.
Some see valleys as difficult experiences.
Others see it as a depressing moment or extended season.
Many give up and literally allow themselves to die inside.
All hope of change is gone.
All strength within themselves is evaporated.
Some even see valleys as permanent places of futility and death.
We envy others who have made it out.
We see their joy.
Their uncontainable happiness.
We become convinced…that can’t be me.
I can’t make it out.
I’m stuck here forever.
Yet valley’s represent times of growth.
To climb out of a deep valley requires effort, focus, ability, etc.
We don’t initially see it in our valley (situations).
But valley experiences bring to us “blessings”.
To climb to the top of a mountain ( challenge).
You must exit through the valley first!
Keep in mind that no one gets to the top in a single leap or step.
Many steps are required.
Mountain top moments are exciting!
Their epic victories.
What is your mountain top moment that you can celebrate?
A renewed marriage?
A wayward child returning back to the family and Christ?
A fresh start?
A financial windfall?
A special calling from God?
Your salvation experience?
The mountain views are terrific!
The vistas around you are breath taking!
You can see how far you’ve come.
You can see the difficulties you had to struggle past to reach the top.
The climb/ the challenge didn’t kill or defeat you!
You made it!
With God anything is possible!
You have to remember that the valley is temporary.
It is taking you to the mountaintop where there will be total restoration!
Join us this next weekend as we look at “The Ascent”
Name your mountain!
And begin the journey to the top!
The valley’s and the ascent will both grow and develop you!
