It’s a big deal visiting a new church for the first time. You may wonder:
Can I come if I’m not sure what I believe?
Regardless of your spiritual background or lack thereof, we understand that you are on a journey. And that journey has led you to at least our website! One of the things we’ve discovered is that our individual lives become more fun, more exciting, and more effective when we come alongside friends and join together on the adventure of discovering who God is, what His plan is for our lives, as well as inviting others to come along with us.
At Sunset Chapel we want to make your visit a great one – easy, straightforward, and uncomplicated. We are intentionally “user-friendly” for everyone regardless of his or her background. So whether you’re single, married, or divorced, with or without children – you will love Sunset Chapel!
Here’s a brief overview of what to expect:
From the moment you pull into the parking lot, our desire is for you to feel at home. Our greeting team is available to guide you around our campus and answer your questions. Our lobby is a great space for you to meet new friends, connect with others and enjoy a warm cup of coffee.
Through the doors!
You will notice that everyone is dressed comfortably in everything from “office casual” to jeans and flip-flops. So “come as you are!”
Our Adult Worship Experiences, Kids Church and Launch Student Ministries are designed for everyone to enjoy and experience the presence of God! Regardless of where you are in your spiritual journey, we strive to communicate the Bible in a way that’s easy for you to understand and apply to your life. You will also find friendly people eager to serve and help you find your way around our church.
Service begins with upbeat music led by our worship arts team (drums, guitars, keyboards, vocalists), followed by a welcome and greeting. Don’t worry, we don’t make you stand and introduce yourself! At the end of the service you can grab any of our pastors and ask questions you may have concerning the vision of Sunset Chapel and the ways in which God is blessing our church family.
Pastor Russ DeBord’s weekly messages are designed to be Biblically based, relevant to daily life, interesting, and enjoyable. They are scripture driven, often including interesting ideas from contemporary culture, events, songs, or movies. At times we use video, musical features or drama to further enhance and expand the message of the day.
At the end of service, you should have experienced solid Christian teaching that was understandable and relevant. Our mission is to provide everyone who walks through our door a genuine transformational experience of God. In addition, we want you to experience community and friendship, and we trust you will find genuine warmth and openness at Sunset Chapel!
Why should I fill out the Connection Card?
The Connection Card is a great way for us to get to know you. We would be grateful to have a record of your visit. There is a space on the back of the Connection Card for you to write down a prayer request. Our church staff will pray over your request throughout the week. You can fill out the Connection Card anytime during the gathering and place it in the offering bag as it is distributed in any of our services or hand to usher/greeter on your way out.
As you surf this website, you will find relevant resources for your spiritual growth and information that will help you get connected with our church family. Also, if you would like to check out Pastor’s blog, we invite you to stop by at www.russdebord.com. He regularly posts articles relating to encouragement, life, leadership, marriage, spiritual growth, and other topics you might find interesting.
Feel free to contact the church office at 305-271-4094 if you have any other questions.
We hope to see you Sunday!
